STYLE MISTAKES I NEVER MAKE AT MY AGE

Last year, I was in Paris for fashion week, and today I am writing this post from the comfy couch of my apartment. Secretly I wished I was attending the shows; instead, I watch them virtually. The other day I went outside to shoot a few looks that I received from the H&M last studio collection, and the suit is from that collection. Sadly the collection sold out within hours. Anyway, when I was taking a few videos for my reels, I’ve had girls screaming while driving that I look “AMAZING.” It feels good to be stoped on the streets and receiving compliments and my looks. My husband tells me that I always get compliments no matter what I wear. Today, I thought I’d share some of the style mistakes I never make at my age.

If you follow me on Instagram, it would be obvious that I love french style. There’s something about the “French-girl style” that I adore. French-style is effortless, and it’s not entirely unattainable. Most think that it is hard to achieve that French look, which is not! Honestly!

Of course, you should wear what looks and feels good on you. If you are in your 30’s and 40’s and looking for a few tips an how to look stylish and effortless see below. I am sharing a few lessons I learned throughout the years.

Develop your own signature look

Don’t follow trends only. Develop your signature look and stick with it, which would make the shopping a hell of a lot easier. I buy clothes that flatter me and my body, and I am confident in wearing them. I know I look good in suits, so I keep wearing and buying suits. What looks good on me doesn’t necessarily look good on you and vice versa.

Stay away from fast fashion

Stay away from fast fashion and look for pieces that will last you for years. I shop at Zara, some might say is fast fashion but to me, Zara is a high street fashion, not Fashionava fashion. I buy pieces that I know I will wear on repeat. Update your coats, blazers, trousers and blouses if they are old but stick to basic pieces. I never consider my wardrobe complete without a blazer. Buy tailored blazers that polish your look.

Keep it simple

Simple outfits are effortless, and French girls use this rule always. Don’t wear many accessories or trends at once. I think it makes your look cluttered and overwhelming.

Dress your age and your body

There is nothing tackier than a woman dressing like a 20-year-old to me. I would never wear what a 20-year-old girl would wear on Instagram. Dress your age and your body. It is very important to know your body and dress your body. Even if you shop at the most expensive pieces, the garment won’t look good on you if it is not for your body type.
