Greetings Fashionistas,
The Nordstrom store finally opened, a few days ago, in Vancouver. Since I was away for the opening gala in California, I read the news about the event and was sad that I didn’t get to attend such a great fashion show. I visited the store yesterday and I must say the store is beautiful, better than I imagined. The problem is, the store is only a few blocks from my home, which could be a dangerous shopping situation! Anyway, the damage was done. I saw this structured classy bag from Ted Baker and fell in love with it. It’s an investment piece, classy not so expensive compared to other designer bags and it goes with everything from business meetings to a night out in town.
I’ve been working in a corporate office for over 9 years and one thing I realized is that to get ahead, you have to dress the part. You have to look professional and polished but you can look trendy at same time. Working outfits don’t have to be boring with just plain suits or casual attire. Business outfits can still be sophisticated, don’t be afraid to push the work-chic envelope. This suit from Zara is perfect fall working attire that you can transit to winter. The blazer is a staple piece you will wear over and over from work to drinks with your girls. Floral pants are a great alternative to wearing plain pants but still just as professional. It gives you that chic, sophisticated vibe, and you can wear it with a cardigan and a trench coat for those chilly days.
This outfit is a perfect for 9-5, and for those nights when you know have plans after work and don’t have to go home and change. Also, it can be good for work events when you need to mingle with clients and coworkers afterwards.
You don’t have to sacrifice your fashion because you work in a very casual work environment 🙂
