How to style a waistcoat trend

Waistcoats were seeing everywhere on the runway shows for Spring SS20 and I’d be honest I was happy to see. I love man’s inspired looks, and wearing a suit I feel much confident than wearing a gown. Today I wanted to show you how to style the waistcoat trend for the Spring season.

Having to shop at my husband’s closet for this look since I haven’t found a great one that I like yet, I created this look to show you how to wear the trend. Waistcoats can be worn alone or as a part three-piece like they did at Burberry. Honestly, a three-piece tux suit for me is better than a gown. I feel more confident in a suit than in a dress. A tailored waistcoat paired with matching trousers and strappy heels it’s sexy and so fashion-forward at the same time.

Since we are having fantastic weather in Vancouver, I decided to try the trend myself with a few new pieces from H&M that I recently got. I layered a pair of high-waisted wide-cut khaki pants, a wide-cut bouse with my husband’s waistcoat and layered over with a blazer. I added a Gucci belt since the vest is quite big on me; imagine my husband’s size and mine 🙂 To finish the look, I added the new glasses, Gucci heels, GB-David Bag, again the chunky heel is coming back. Thank god!

Although it is still winter, there’s nothing wrong with looking forward for the Spring season. Below are a few of my favourite looks from the recent runways shows which would give you an idea. I am thinking to wear a waistcoat for the warmer weather with white jeans, a blouse or a tee and strappy sandals. Also with Bermuda shorts and tee would be another great look for Spring.

Spread the love
