Class Act: Defining Elegance From Within

Class Act: Defining Elegance From Within

Do you like to call yourself classy or consider yourself as such?

In Instagrams world of self-promotion, it is almost necessary to identify yourself the way you want to be perceived. But, would you actually say and describe what you are? Or, would you just let your actions speak for themselves? I get flattered when others compliment my sense of style. If someone asks me to describe my sense of style I truly don’t have a label. I love dressing the way I feel and how I want to be without using a label. I definitely try to dress for the occasion and what looks good on me.

There’s more to understanding class than meets the eye. Classy is not just about clothes, makeup, hairstyles, accessories. It is not about being posh, or wealthy. Being classy is more connected to your personality, mannerism and behaviour. You can dress classy, you can sit, and walk classy, but true class comes from within, without needing to say it out loud otherwise it becomes tacky.

I admire people who are kind, sophisticated, graceful and elegant. I think they’re classy. But, these characteristics don’t show up as signs above one’s head. They just present themselves in the way a person behaves and looks. I believe that these descriptions are reflections of how a person carries oneself. Now, what does this have anything to do with this blog post?

Well, fashion and travel are my passion. In order to be true to myself and my passion, I stick to characteristics that I’ve come to admire, whether in fashion choices, people or things or places. You’ll see some of my post on IG channelling Audrey Hepburn. I love her! I think that she’s one of the more elegant and sophisticated people ever to grace this world.

My choice of style is definitely versatile. I love trends that look good on and my body and that is appropriate for my age. However, I love classic, timeless pieces and I gravitate towards minimalist, sophisticated style. The possibilities are endless when it comes to developing your own sense of style. There is no limit as long as it looks good on you and you feel good in it. If you rock it then wear it and make it your own!

Is it all on the label? How would you describe yourself? Would you actually say it out loud?

  4. I love how you said you don’t to be defined by a label, and dress for the way you feel- I could NOT agree more. I sometimes look in the mirror and think, “huh?… how would I describe my style” and I have the hardest time pin-pointing it to one niche or fad.

There are not need for labels, for sure!!

  5. I believe that elegance is something that you own and agree with you that it comes from within. You either have it or not, and you have a lot of it!

I’m loving how chic and feminine the dress is, it looks gorgeous on you.

  6. This is a very interesting topic and honestly I don’t know what my style is too. I dress for the mood. I would say you carry a very sophisticated look yourself. You make that Zara trench looks like million bucks. The lace dress just fits like a tee. The white frame sunglasses add the right amount of edgy. I am in love with this look.

  7. Red lace always looks so classy and I have never seen a dress quite like the one you’re wearing. I love the way you styled yours with that trench and those black pumps. You look so beautiful, Aurela!

  8. What a beautiful lace dress! full of femininity and style. I totally agree with you, brands don’t define the elegance of a garment or the way you look. Elegance should come naturally. You look so stylish.

  11. I love this post! I have always admired your style. I think you are classic and elegant. Like you, I don’t really label myself in one category. I honestly dress how I feel. One day I am super casual and the next I am in a floral maxi with heels. I love this entire look! The trench, stunning red dress, and those perfect white sunnies!
